let's start planning

You bring the vision. I'll bring the know-how. The result?
A vacation you won't soon forget.

I believe every trip has three stages: the anticipation, the experiencing, and the remembering. When the experience doesn't live up to the anticipation? Hello heartbreak. All that effort. All that buildup. For something that just fell flat.
Why leave something that meaningful to chance?

They most certainly do.

Not every trip needs the expertise of a professional travel advisor. But the journeys worth remembering?

Deep exhale. And then a smile. Your mind is peaceful. The day ahead is about to unfold, and every detail was thoughtfully arranged long before you arrived.

Whether it's a European riverbank gliding past your window, the sound of the African bush waking up outside your tent, or waves rolling onshore just beyond your door — the scene might differ. The feeling doesn't. You are completely present.

No scrambling. No second-guessing. Just you in one of the most beautiful places on earth, exactly the way you imagined it would be. That's the experience I design. Every journey. Every time.

This is the art of traveling well.

Can I paint you a picture?

Your coffee is warm. Wrapped in the softest robe, you step onto your balcony and breathe in the kind of air that only exists somewhere like this.

If you found yourself nodding at even one of these — you're in exactly the right place.

Too busy. Life is full and this trip simply isn't going to plan itself

Clueless about cost. You have no idea what a realistic budget actually looks like for the trip you have in mind

Shortchanged. You've taken trips that felt a little... meh. And you know in your heart that travel can feel so much better than that

Second-guessing. You're worried about making the wrong call — wrong hotel, wrong timing, wrong destination

Someday. That trip you've been dreaming about keeps getting pushed further down the list

Overwhelmed. You've spent hours researching and somehow feel more confused than when you started

Any of this Sound Familiar?

— Stephanie, Feather & Pine

There's a difference between taking a trip and being on vacation.
A trip requires constant management and coordination.
A vacation simply requires that you arrive and enjoy.

Meanwhile, you should probably dust off that passport we talked about.

Consider this your official permission to stop figuring it out alone. I'm here to take the overwhelm off your plate, the second-guessing out of your head, and the "someday" off your list.

Here's how — we uncover what you're dreaming of together, and then I go to work bringing your trip design to life. The details? Handled by an experienced travel pro who genuinely loves this work.

I’m Ready When You Are.

let's begin planning

Ready to Trade Overwhelmed for Extraordinary?

Planning a meaningful trip is not just an investment of your money — it's an investment of your time and your trust. Because our planning relationship will likely span weeks or even months, it matters deeply that we work well together.

My goal is never to plan just one trip for you, it's to become your trusted advisor for every journey that follows.

So before we begin, here are six qualities that guide Feather & Pine. They are an honest reflection of how I work and who I work best with.

Six principles behind every Feather & Pine journey.

Are we a Perfect Match?

01.

I believe the kindest thing I can do is be completely clear with you — about budgeting, timelines, and expectations — right from the start. No surprises. No awkward conversations. Just honest, straightforward communication from day one.

We're a great match: if you appreciate honesty over sugar coating.

Clear is Kind

02.

Travel is made up of a thousand small decisions, and every single one of them matters. From room selection and excursion options to transportation timing and special requests, I handle every detail with care and intention so that by the time you arrive, everything simply feels right. That's not luck. That's preparation.

We're a great match if: You're ready to release the details into my care and simply be present for every moment of your journey.

Details Matter

03.

Behind every seamless journey is a very organized paper trail. I work primarily through email — keeping every detail, decision and confirmation properly documented to protect you and ensure nothing is overlooked. I maintain regular office hours, respond promptly, and use professional planning tools behind the scenes so our communication always feels effortless on your end.

We're a great match if: Email is a love language you speak fluently, and you find peace knowing I’m properly documenting everything along the way.

Organized Communication

04.

I love when clients arrive with inspiration, ideas and a vision for what this trip should feel like — bring it all! What I'll ask in return is an open mind. Open to recommendations that might differ from what you've researched. Open to timing and investment suggestions that reflect years of expertise. And open to the beautiful unpredictability that makes travel so extraordinary.

We're a great match if: You value professional guidance over Google results and meet unexpected travel detours with patience and a good attitude.

Open Minded & Flexible

05.

Great travel is a privilege — and I believe it should be treated as one. I'm looking for clients who move through the world with genuine respect and gratitude — for each other, for fellow travelers, for the service providers who make every experience possible, and for the destinations themselves. Traveling well means leaving every place a little better than you found it.

We're a great match if: You understand that patience and grace are just as essential as a valid passport.

Respectful

06.

This is the part I love most: the joy. From our very first conversation to the moment your plane touches back down at home, I want every step of this experience to feel exciting, fulfilling and genuinely fun. Travel has a way of awakening something in people — a sense of wonder, a lightness of spirit, a joy that's hard to find anywhere else. That's what I'm here to nurture. And when we get it right? You won't just want to travel again — you'll want to bring everyone you love along for the ride.

We're a great match if: Your glass is always a little more than half full.

Joy in the Journey

What are the benefits of booking with a travel advisor?

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

  • Your time is protected. I handle the research, the bookings, the follow-ups and the details — saving you hours, days and sometimes weeks of planning.
  • You get a real human. Not a booking engine. Not an algorithm. Not an influencer on a reel. A real travel expert who genuinely cares about your experience and is just a phone call or email away.
  • Your experience is elevated. Every recommendation comes from genuine expertise and firsthand knowledge — not a Google search.
  • You have an advocate. If something goes sideways before or during your trip I'm in your corner — always.
  • Your journey becomes personal. The more we work together the better I know your travel style, your preferences and what you value the most.

Honestly? The better question is — what aren't the benefits? Working with a professional travel advisor means you're no longer navigating the planning process alone, drowning in browser tabs, or second-guessing every decision. Here's what changes when we work together:

How far in advance should I begin planning?

The sooner the better. Here's a helpful guide:

  • River Cruises, Safaris & Expedition Cruise Travel — 12-18 months in advance. These experiences book up quickly and the best cabins, camps and departures go fast.
  • International “Passport” Vacations — 6-12 months is ideal for most destinations.
  • Holiday & Peak Season Travel — No time is too soon. Seriously.
  • Last Minute Requests — Reach out anyway! Depending on the destination and travel type I'll let you know what's possible. Please note a rush fee may apply.

Helpful insight: Flight schedules are typically released 335 days prior to travel dates — but we can always secure your accommodations and add flights when they become available.

Do you charge a planning fee?

Yes, I do— and I'm happy to answer openly because clear is kind. My planning fees cover the extensive research, custom itinerary design, booking management, and personal support I provide from our very first conversation to the moment you arrive home safely.

When you invest in a planning fee you're really investing in three things:

  • Firsthand destination knowledge — earned through 30+ years in the travel industry and personal visits to 200+ properties worldwide
  • Trusted partner relationships — the kind that take years to cultivate and simply can't be replicated with a Google search
  • The expertise of knowing what works and what doesn't — so you never have to find out the hard way

Planning fees are based on the complexity of each journey — a multi-stop European itinerary requires a significantly different level of research and coordination than a single destination beach escape.

Once you submit your inquiry form, you’ll receive a “How We Work” guide that outlines our fee structure before we jump on our first call.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Always — without exception. Travel insurance isn't just a nice-to-have, it's an essential part of protecting your trip investment. A few things worth knowing:

  • Your standard health insurance doesn't cover you abroad. This surprises most travelers — but it's true and it's important.
  • Timing matters more than you think. Travel protection should be purchased when making your initial deposit to ensure maximum policy benefits.

I'll always recommend appropriate coverage options for your specific journey. Ultimately the policy selection is your decision and I encourage you to review the terms carefully so you travel with complete confidence and peace of mind.

Can my trip itinerary be itemized?

Short answer — no. But here's why that actually works in your favor.

The preferred rates and exclusive pricing I access through my trusted partner relationships are confidential — meaning they're not available to the general public and cannot be broken out line by line. Your itinerary will be presented as a complete, all-inclusive package reflecting everything we've agreed upon.

Think of it less like a restaurant bill and more like a thoughtfully designed tasting menu. Every element has been selected with intention and priced as a complete experience.

If adjustments are needed your total package will simply be repriced to reflect the changes.

Do you book air travel?

In many cases — yes! Airfare is often included as part of your complete travel package, particularly for beach and tropical escapes and river cruise journeys that include air promotions.

For more complex international itineraries such as European land journeys or safari adventures, there are times when booking flights independently or through your preferred airline loyalty program may actually work in your favor — particularly if you're sitting on a stash of points just waiting to be used.

Either way you'll never be left to figure out the flight piece alone. I'll always guide you through the best options, timing and strategy for getting there — because how you arrive matters just as much as where you're going.

How do I know if Feather & Pine is the right fit for me?

Such a great question, and one I love answering..

Feather & Pine is the perfect fit for you if you're a busy professional, a busy parent, or simply someone whose life doesn't leave much room for the kind of detailed planning that a truly great trip requires.

And truthfully? You don't even have to be busy. You might simply want the confidence of knowing an expert has every detail handled — because the trip you're dreaming of deserves more than a weekend of endless internet searching.

My clients share a few things in common:

They value their time — and understand that handing the planning process to an expert is one of the smartest ways to spend it
They want seamless, not stressful — organized, thoughtful travel that flows beautifully from start to finish
They trust the process — and place more importance on the total experience than saving a few hundred dollars by piecing it together themselves
They're ready to invest — in a journey that feels exactly right, not almost right

If you've scrolled through our six guiding qualities above and found yourself nodding — you already have your answer.
