I liken a river cruise ship to a boutique hotel that floats. You unpack once and let the crew navigate the river. In just a week (or two) it's possible to visit multiple countries, immerse yourself in charming towns and cities, enjoy fabulous food and beverage onboard, and settle beautifully into a stress-free schedule.

Here's what most DIY travelers discover too late: there’s a difference between an extraordinary beach vacation and one that feels - well, forgettable.
